Castelli Romani

The term Castelli Romani refers to a group of towns or villages located on the Alban Hills, just a short distance from Rome. They are one of the most popular tourist areas in the province of Rome.

The famous Tusculan Villas, located in the municipalities of Frascati, Grottaferrata, and Monte Porzio Catone, as well as the papal villa of Castel Gandolfo, are the most well-known and striking evidence of the preference that popes and wealthy Roman nobles had for the Castellano climate. Modern tourism, more than for the quality of the air, is focused on the beauty of the places and the entertainment offerings: in Ariccia, for example, the “fraschette” are hugely popular, becoming a symbol of the town and a reason for national fame.
